Usher Terry Raymond IV

Usher Terry Raymond IV
Usher Raymond, born on October 14, 1978, in Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA. Drawn from LaFace Records’ seemingly inexhaustible wellspring of young R&B acts, Usher is one of the few who can boast of real star quality and staying power. Indeed, after the release of his self-titled debut in 1994, there seemed to be a danger that he would become better known as a face rather than a musical talent. He appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show and also performed at the American Music Awards as part of the all-star recording collaboration Black Men United.

However, sales of his Sean “Puffy” Combs-produced debut were a little disappointing at just over a quarter of a million, though it did spawn the hit single “Think Of You”. As a consequence, Usher took creative control over the production of the US Top 10 follow-up My Way, although he did enlist Jermaine Dupri, Teddy Riley and Babyface as co-writers and co-producers. The first single to be taken from the album, “You Make Me Wanna”, was typical of the smooth ballads on offer.

More unusual was the experimental, hip-hop-styled “Nice ‘N’ Slow”, a US chart-topper in March 1998. The album also included a remake of Midnight Star’s “Slow Jam”, featuring fellow teenage R&B star Monica. The title track climbed to US number 2 in August 1998. A live album was issued as a stopgap while the singer recorded new material and initiated a successful acting career, appearing in the television series Moesha and the movies The Faculty and She’s All That. His 2000 comeback single “Pop Ya Collar”, co-written with husband-and-wife team Kevin She’kspere Briggs and Kandi, was a surprising failure in America. Usher was more successful in the UK, where the single debuted at number 2 in February 2001.

He returned to the top of the US charts in July with “U Remind Me”, which premiered the transatlantic hit album 8701. The single “U Got It Bad” also reached the number 1 position in 2002, and helped complete Usher’s transition from teen pop star to R&B bestseller. He cemented his status as one of the most prominent faces in American music when his new single, “Yeah!”, climbed up the US charts to reach the top slot in February 2004. The track repeated the feat on the UK chart.

For one so small
You seem so strong, now
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm, This

Can't be broken
So im gonna be here dont you cry

We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time

Usher - You Make Me Wanna (Timbaland Remix)

[Timbaland]
Uh, uh-uh, can you feel me?
Uh, say what? Say what
Uh, uh-uh, can you feel me?
Usher

[1 - Usher]
You make me wanna leave the one I'm with
Start a new relationship with you
This is what you do
Think about her and all the things it come along with
You make me

You make me wanna leave the one I'm with
Start a new relationship with you
This is what you do
Think about her and all the things it come along with
You make me, you make me

[Usher]
Before anything began between us
You were like my best friend
The one I used to run and talk to
When me and my girl was having problems
You used to say it'll be OK
Suggest little nice things I should do
And when I go home at night and lay my head down
All I seem to think about was you
And how

[Repeat 1]

[Usher]
Now what's bad is you're the one that hooked us up
Knowing it should have been you
What's sad is that I love her but I'm falling for you
What should I do?
Should I tell my baby bye-bye?
Should I do exactly what I feel inside?
Cuz I, I don't wanna go, don't need to stay
But I really need to get it together

[Repeat 1]

[Timbaland]
Baby it's kind of honey
How you make me feel
I've been with your friend for about five years (five years)
I never thought that I would change my decision (uh-huh)
I wanna kiss you and hold your hand with your permission
(Uh-huh)
Honey got me twisted in the head like a cuckoo clock
Trying not to look
But I, but I, but I can't stop
What can I say? I wanna be with you
Usher bring in the hook, I'm out dude what?

[Repeat 1]

Ooh you're making me
You're making me, you're make me
Oh you make me¡-

[Repeat 1]

Leave the one I'm with
Start a new relationship with you
This is what you do
Think about her and all the things it come along with
You make me, you make me

[Repeat 1 till end]

Usher - You Make Me Wanna (JD's Remix)

Feat. Jermaine Dupri

So So Def
Get 'em up, get 'em up (what?)
This is what you do
Remix
Get 'em up, get 'em up (what?)

If you saw me and you
In the drop top Benz baby
What would ya do?
Say it all depends
No, it don't
What you want
That's all it's about
You could say whassup?
And keep steppin', cut
And turn us both out
See all I'm tryin' to do
Is make you party rock
Nonstop, trucks by the fly
Cubans with the rocks
Superior yachts
Inspired to stay hot
The hell wit cher block
I got the radio on loud
What?

Before anything began between us
You were like my best friend
The one I used to run and talk to
When me and my girl was having problems
You used to say it'll be OK
Suggest little nice things I should do
And when I go home at night and lay my head down
All I seem to think about was you
And how

[1] - You make me wanna leave the one I'm with
Start a new relationship with you
(Get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up)
This is what you do
Think about a ring and all the things it come along with
You make me

You make me wanna leave the one I'm with
Start a new relationwship with you
(Get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up)
This is what you do
Think about a ring and all the things it come along with
You make me, you make me

Now what's bad is you're the one that hooked us up
Knowing it should have been you
What's sad is that I love her but I'm falling for you
What should I do
Should I tell my baby bye-bye
Should I do exactly what I feel inside
Cuz I, I don't wanna go, don't need to stay
But I really need to get it together

[Repeat 1]

At this point the situation's out of control
I never meant to hurt her
But I gotta let her go
And if she may not understand it
While all of this is going on
I tried, I tried to fight it
But the feeling's just too strong
You make me, make me

You make me wanna
You make me wanna
(Get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up)
You make me wanna
You make me wanna

You make me wanna
You make me wanna
(Get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up, get 'em up)
You make me wanna
You makin' me

[Repeat 1 until fade]

Usher - Yeah! (Remix)

[Intro: Usher, Freeway, Lil' Jon, Ludacris]

[Usher] Peace up, A-Town down
[Freeway] Philly!
[Lil' Jon] Yeah! (yeah!!)
[Freeway] Yeah!
[Lil' Jon] Okay! (okay!!)
[Freeway] Okay
[Ludacris] Usher, Usher
[Freeway] Wait
[Lil' Jon] Lil' Jon!
[Usher] Yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) - yeah!

[Verse 1: Freeway]
Luda, Usher, Lil' Jon, & Free (Lil' Jon & Free)
When it time, only niggaz rock designer first (first)
And we pull up and we crush the curb
And the rims so deep you can't find your feet (find your feet)
Can't see past the truck, past the phantom, the clique
I catch Hummer, Benz, and Bentlys
Wrist froze, step on the grease, crush the guard and
With Jay-Z twisting up weed
The Big Bad Wolf he'll puff your hut down
The gauge I'll buck rounds, leave you with no knees, the O.G
Probably bouncing to Rap music, the four life fluid
And it does make the chicks scream

[Ludacris]
Take that and rewind it back
Lil' Jon got the beat that make your booty go (smack)

[Usher]
Yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) - yeah!

[Lil' Jon]
Let's go!

[Verse 2: Usher + (Lil' Jon)]
I was up in the club with my homies
Trying to get a little Bia', keep it down on the low key (low

key)
You should know how it feels (hey, hey!)
I saw the shorty she was checking up on me
From the game she was spitting in my ear
You would think that she know me (know me)
I decided to chill (okay!)
Conversation got heavy, she had me feeling like she's ready to

blow (watch out!)
Oh! (watch out!) she's saying, "come get me" (come get me)
So I got up and followed her to the floor
She said, "baby let's go"
When I told her (let's go!) I said

[Chorus: Usher + (Lil' Jon)]
(Yeah!!) yeah!
Shorty got down on her knees, said "come and get me"
(Yeah!!) yeah!
I got so caught up, I forgot she told me
(Yeah!!) yeah!
Her and my girl used to be the best of homies
(Yeah!!) yeah!
Next thing I knew, she was all up on me screaming

[Hook: Usher + (Lil' Jon in backround)]
Yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah - yeah!
Yeah (yeah) yeah (yeah) yeah - yeah!

[Verse 3: Usher + (Lil' Jon)]
She's all up in my head now
Got me thinking that it might
Be a good time to take her with me (with me)
Cause she's ready to leave (ready to leave - now!) (let's let's

go!)
Now I got to keep it real now
Cause on a 1 to 10 she's a certified 20
But that just ain't me (hey!)
Cause I don't know, if I take that chance
Just where's it going to lead?
But what I do know, is the way she dance
Make shorty alright with me
The way she "get low!"
I'm like yeah, just work that out for me
She ask for one more dance and I'm like yeah
How the hell am I supposed to leave?
(Let's go bring the beat back!) and I said..

[Chorus: Usher + (Lil' Jon)]

[Hook: Usher + (Lil' Jon in backround)]

[Verse 4: Ludacris + (Lil' Jon)]
Watch out, my outfit's rediculous
In the club looking so conspicuous
And RAWR, these women all on the prowl
If you hold the head steady, I'm a milk the cow (yeah!)
And forget about game, I'm a spit the truth (what?!)
I won't stop until I get them in they birthday suits (yeah,

yeah!)
So give me the rhythm and it'll be of with they clothes
Then bend over to the FRONT - and touch your toes!
I - left the Jag and I took the Rolls
If they ain't cutting then I put them on foot patrol (let's

go!) (ow!)
How you like me now?
When my pinky's valued over three hundred thou-sand!
Let's drink, you the one to please (yeah)
Ludacris fill cups like double D's (yeah!)
Me and Ush once more and we leaves them dead
We want a lady in the streets but a freak in the bed - that

say..

[Chorus: Usher + (Lil' Jon in backround)]

[Hook: Usher + (Lil' Jon in backround)]

[Outro: Ludacris]
Take that and rewind it back
Lil' Jon got the beat that make your booty go (smack)
Take that, rewind it back
Ursher got the voice that make your booty go (smack)
Take that, rewind it back
Ludacris got the flow that make your booty go (smack)
Take that, rewind it back
Lil' Jon got the beat that make your booty go (smack)
