Hello, my friend! How are you? May we all be in good condition, full of grace and God's protection. On this occasion, I will be sharing tips about cleaning the drum. Cleaning the drum is very important, because our drum gear is one investment that is very valuable, so we must take good care for it.
Before we begin. I would like to remind that the best way to clean up our drum is to keep it clean from the beginning we bought it. This case we speak of commitment, dedication of time, effort, and money. If we are given the trust with a good drum stuff by God, we must be responsible to take good care.
Let us discuss one by one tips to clean the drum:
- Firstly prepare the cleaner tool. Among other things : a soft cloth, WD40. Why use a soft cloth to clean the drum? Of course this is intended to avoid blisters on the surface of the drum. WD40 can be purchased at stores such as Ace Hardwares buildings and supermarkets.
- Generally we use WD40 with sprayed it directly. But don't do it to the drum, but apply it to the soft cloth first and then slowly rubbed into the drum.
- I suggest that you provide about 10-15 minutes per-piece drums, that take long time. After all, as I said earlier, that the drum has been cleaned is our commitment. Time we need to clean the drum also depends on how dirty the drum is. If still clean, we won't take long time to clean it up.
- Use a little WD40 to clean the drum is not too dirty by rubbing WD40 on the metal parts, which is: hoops, tuning rods, strainers / throw off, lugs. Rub until the dirt is gone.
- To the drum body (shell) if made of materials other than metal, it does not need to be scrubbed with WD40. To that of a metal shell, can be cleaned the same way as already described above. For the shell of the wood / acrylic, can be polished using a t-shirt and warm water.
- To clean the whole drum (very dirty), first of all is to release the hoops / rims and all the tension rods of the drum shell. In this way, the process of cleaning all this hardware will be more efficient and have a good result.
- When the drum is rusty, clean way to use fine sandpaper + white compound. Can also be purchased at the store building. Rub the white compound only on the rusty parts only.
- When corrosion occurs in the drum shell (the metal), should not be rubbed with a compound, because it will ruin the appearance.
